Engineering Lead / Manager

Vantage is growing again and we are looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to join our team. This role will be critical in providing leadership to our dynamic team, overseeing the team's daily operations and focusing on delivering high-quality software. We foster a positive team environment focused on collaboration and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Our primary frameworks are Python/Django for the backend and ReactJS for the front end. Our platform also uses Snowflake, Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres and more. You’ll get a chance to work on the whole stack. We host primarily in Azure but also use AWS and GCP.

We are a fully remote team, but are primarily based in southern Ontario, and get together in person at least once a month for planning, team building and group work.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for people who want to build great stuff and have a strong grasp of the fundamentals. The list below is not a hard list of requirements, we will happily train you in any areas you haven’t worked with before.

At least 2 years leading a team of 6-8 engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship and career development, while also being hands-on and writing high-quality code with your team.
Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to build a product that our customers love.
A strong understanding of software development methodologies and engineering best practices
5+ years of experience of development experience. Ideally, have experience in Python and/or React. Other languages are fine as long as you are willing to put the time in to learn our technology.
Ad platform API expertise (Facebook, Google, Pinterest, etc.)
DevOps and deployment experience is a plus, on Azure, GCP or AWS.
